Bernie Ecclestone has reiterated his frustration at Manor and its chairman Justin King after the team failed to take to the track in Australia.

We should have chopped them off when we found out that they were insolvent

Bernie Ecclestone

As reported here previously Ecclestone felt that he had been misled in that the team committed to being in Melbourne while knowing that there was no chance to run the cars. Bernie has opposed the team's return all along, in the face of opposition from the FIA.

Ecclestone sounds off

"This shows you what that Justin King is," he told The Independent. "King is the genius businessman. The guy that was going to do all these things. It's bloody disgusting, to be honest with you. It's disgusting that somebody can do that for a start.

"They went to Melbourne with no intention to run. They couldn't run. They never had anything which could let them run.

"They had two engines and two gearboxes which were supplied under their contract with Ferrari, which both couldn't run because they had no life in them. They were just put in the cars to arrive there."

How it is

He added: "We should have chopped them off when we found out that they were insolvent. The trouble is that they went into administration, and when they get themselves out of administration, they are back as if nothing has ever happened. I have never heard anything so mad but that is how it is."
