European GP Arrows preview

Pedro de la Rosa:
"The long straights at Nurburgring are similar to those at Jerez were we have been testing this last week, so it's been good training. We've been concentrating hard on car set -up and development issues and I feel confident that the car will perform well at next weeks Grand Prix".

Jos Verstappen:
"I know Nurburgring quite well because I did 2 races for Formula 3 there and it's a good circuit, but for Formula 1 it's quite slow on the corners and not as challenging as other circuits. There will be a lot of Dutch people at the race as it's not far from Holland, so we'll see a lot of orange there as that's the national colour - that'll be good for our title sponsor, Orange, and also the team. Hopefully the weather will be good as Nurburgring can be wet this time of year but I don't mind either way ".

Latest Technical and Test Information
Following the Spanish Grand Prix, the Orange Arrows Test Team travelled to Jerez in Spain for a 3 day test, to continue the test and development programme. The main focus was on reliability work and testing for Bridgestone tyres in preparation for the European race at Nurburgring. Pedro de la Rosa drove for all three days due to Jos Verstappen suffering from a flu virus. On day 1, initial runs concentrated on electronic and gearbox system settings, but was cut short due to heavy rain. 60 laps were completed however with no problems. The second day continued by working through the substantial test programme, with the main elements being tyre, software and mechanical chassis set-up work. Rain in the morning and several red flags frustrated the work programme. The team was able to evaluate further chassis settings in the afternoon and carry out additional mechanical set-up changes. On the final day temps reached over 30 degrees. Pedro ran total of 69 laps as various brake and mechanical set-up items were put through their paces. The team was pleased with the three days running and information acquired as the test car completed a significant number of laps allowing engineers to better understand reliability issues. The findings will now be applied to the three Race Team cars that will attend the European Grand Prix at Nurburgring.
