Jean Alesi:
"This is really the kind of race where you have to take a lot of risks in
the extreme conditions. I am very disappointed not to
have been able to obtain a better result here even if it was very difficult
to do better taking into account all the incidents we had in the race. Now
we must definitely resolve all the technical problems, which have penalised
us up to now to improve our situation. "
Alain Prost:
"Jean drove a good race but after a good refuelling stop he complained
about a problem with the gear changes. So he had to make a
first extra stop. Due to a problem with the steering wheel, the pit speed
limit did not function and he broke the speed limit in the pitlane, which
cost him a ten seconds penalty and a fourth stop. It was all the more
regrettable as his car performed well and was improving in the last part of
the race. Once again, we have had little good luck, but overall we have not
yet overcome the problems which have affected us for some time. After a
difficult weekend, the whole team must look ahead to preparing to gain a
positive result in Monaco. "
Corrado Provera:
"Jean Alesi finished in ninth position a race which was interrupted by
several pitstops. Two of these were not expected
and perhaps prevented him from finishing in the points. The Peugeot A20
seems to have reached a good level of reliability and had no problems in
the race. "
