F1 Debrief: All you need to know from Test Day 4
Good morning. Welcome to our daily Motorsport F1 Debrief from testing – your quick wrap-up of all the important stories that took place yesterday as this week’s test came to an end.
After a disrupted few days of action, where cold weather and even snow limited running and made it tricky for teams to work through their programmes, there was a return to the norm as Lewis Hamilton ended the week on top.

It is clear Mercedes has made a good step with its W09, having stuck with the basic concepts that helped it grab the world championship double with its ‘diva’ 2017 challenger.

Jonathan Noble is Motorsport.com’s Formula 1 editor. Jonathan has won multiple awards for journalism - in 1991 he was the winner of the Guild of Motoring Writers’ Sir William Lyons’ Award for young journalists, in 2010 he was awarded the Outstanding Individual accolade for consumer journalism in the Haymarket wards, in 2011 he won Haymarket’s Scoop of the Year, and in 2018 he was awarded a prestigious Medaglia d’Oro at the Lorenzo Bandini Awards for his contribution to F1 journalism.
