Arrows still after Diniz's money

Arrows are continuing their action against Pedro Diniz, despite a ruling from the Contracts Recognition Board saying they have no claim on the driver. The team has put out a statement to the press:

"The CRB's decision in no way determines the outcome of the legal action against Pedro Diniz. Its role is to resolve questions concerning registration of driver contracts with the FIA". How this differs from what the team wants is unclear and could bring the team into conflict with the FIA. A similar action disputing the authority of the FIA between the the FIA and BAR has led to the team being called to answer charges of bringing the sport into disrepute.

Arrows releases Salo - 'at his request'

The Arrows team have announced this morning that Mika Salo has been released from his contract with the team. Arrows have stressed that this was at the request of Mika Salo, and not management pushing him out. It has, however, been known for some time that members of management within the team wanted him replaced. Tora "Tiger" Takagi has been confirmed as a driver for the team. Tora brings sponsorship with him from PIAA, who previously supported him at Tyrrell. -- Stephen M Baines
