Second day of testing this week for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit, in Andalusia.
Once again today, the two official test drivers, Luca Badoer and Marc Gene were on track. The Scuderia's session was interrupted just before midday after Badoer, at the wheel of an F2005, suffered an off-track excursion as a result of a mechanical failure at the front right corner of the car.
The driver was unhurt, but the team decided not to continue with the planned test programme until the cause of the breakage, which occurred in the same way as yesterday's, was identified.
Up until that point, Badoer had done 15 laps, the quickest in a time of 1:18.223. At the wheel of an F2004 M, fitted with a V8 engine, Gene had done one lap less than his team-mate, with a best time of 1:21.121.
Circuit: Jerez circuit - 4.428 km
Drivers: Marc Gené and Luca Badoer
Cars: F2005 and F2004 M
Weather: air temperature 9/20°C, track temperature 9/27 °C. Clear skies.
