Mission accomplished for Bianchi

Jerez de la Frontera, 2 December 2009 -- Jules Bianchi has just finished his stint at the wheel of the F60 at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit. The young Frenchman drove for Scuderia Ferrari for two days at the Andalusian track, along with other teams, as part of an important initiative, aimed at giving talented youngsters the chance to get to grips with a Formula 1 car. For two days, he carried out a busy programme, as part of the famous Maranello team.

Lap times -- he was ninth in 1.20.586 -- meant little when compared to the overall experience. "I know I wasn't particularly quick, but running in race configuration meant I was able to learn a lot. With the help of the team, I got to understand the car, especially its handling when running consistent lap times, which seemed really positive to me." With over 900 kilometres under his belt, Bianchi now hands over the F60 cockpit to three more youngsters.

Tomorrow's testing will see the first three finishers in this year's Italian Formula 3 Championship driving the car. This is part of an initiative set up in 2008 with the CSAI and it means that the Italians, Daniel Zampieri and Marco Zipoli and the Mexican, Pablo Sanchez Lopez will each get their turn at the wheel of the car that competed in this year's Formula 1 World Championship.
