Ferrari Testing Day Two at Monza 98-08-19

Monza, 19th August Circuit: Monza, 5.800 km Drivers: Michael Schumacher, F 300 chassis 183 (long wheelbase) Eddie Irvine, F 300 chassis 187 (long wheelbase) Weather: air temperature 29 C, track temperature 50 C, sunny On this the second day of testing for Scuderia Ferrari-Marlboro at Monza, both Schumacher and Irvine once again used the long wheelbase version of the F 300. The German driver continued with the work begun yesterday to fine tune the set-up of his car. He worked mainly on the suspension. Schumacher did a total of 75 laps with a best time of 1m 25.693s. Irvine's programme was to do a grand prix simulation. In the morning he did around 15 laps and in the afternoon he did a sequence of four runs, equal in total to the length of a grand prix. He did a total of 69 laps, his fastest time being a 1m 26.197s. Quickest today was once again David Coulthard (McLaren-Mercedes) with a 1m 24.263s. Today, FIAT Honorary President, Gianni Agnelli, and FIAT CEO, Paolo Cantarella, came to Monza where they met with the drivers and the team members.
