The following are the upcoming Formula 1 rule changes, as announced on 1994-07-05 and agreed to by FIA, the technical directors and the team owners.

As of the 1994 German Grand Prix: ---------------------------------

- No rear wing forward of the rear wheel centreline. [This eliminates the Footwork-style forward-reaching wings.]

- Maximum 70% rear wing blockage between 60cm and 95cm above ground. [ie wing elements may only occupy 70% of space as viewed horizontally.]

- 10mm skid block beneath flat bottom. [made of impregnated wood, under the monocoque itself only.]

As of the 1995 season: ----------------------

- All the rules in effect as of the 1994 German Grans Prix. - Impact absorbing side structures with impact tests. - Larger cockpit openings. - Better headrest installations. - Higher survival cell alongside driver. - Increase in minimum weight to equal weight of side structures plus other passive safety measures [exact increase not yet specified.] - Engine capacity reduced to 3.0L.
