French GP Ferrari Preview Quotes

Jean Todt: "This Grand Prix is especially significant for me on three counts. Firstly, it was here, five years ago that I began my work for Ferrari. Secondly, as a Frenchman, this is my home grand prix. Thirdly, last year on this track, we took a fine win with Michael and Eddie was in third place. Here at this circuit, the first half of the Championship comes to a close and a good result would be a good omen for the second half of the season. Since the Canadian GP, our testing has produced some positive results and so I am confident that we can have a good race."

Michael Schumacher: "It is not a big problem to find a good set up for Magny-Cours. When temperatures are high the surface gets quite slippery, with the grooved tires you slide even move. The pit-lane entrance is a little bit tricky to drive. Last year we could win here. So, I hope we again will have a good result this weekend."

Eddie Irvine: "I enjoy driving this track. It has a very smooth surface with no bumps, which makes it slightly easier than usual to set-up the car. We had a very good test there recently and I think we can go well in this race. The first section of the track and the two chicanes are good fun as they are fast and tricky. The final section is alright apart from the last corner which is too slow. I finished on the podium last year and I think it is possible again this time. It can be very hot in the middle of France in the summer and that can create problems for the tyres and it can also be tiring for the driver."
