Frentzen thinks Prost still best option

Heinz Harald Frentzen has said in an interview with a German magazine that he believes there is hope for the ailing Prost team and he'd rather remain with them than go elsewhere.

Rumours went into overdrive after Frentzen visited Arrows' Leafield base and speculation was rife that the German could oust either Verstappen or Bernoldi from their current driver seats. Frentzen says that the visit meant nothing as regards to driving for Arrows, despite rumours that he was offered a deal to buy out Verstappen's contract.

European Minardi boss Paul Stoddart has also expressed an interest in Frentzen, wanting an experienced driver to partner Alex Yoong. "Prost is the best option for me," Frentzen said. "I'm familiar with both the team and the car, I know more or less what to expect. I know Paul Stoddart is very determined and I assume the team will have more money next year so there would be a chance for me to help them develop."
