Ocon's previous DNF came at the 2014 Macau Grand Prix. The Frenchman was involved in a collision with Tom Blomqvist when both had a chance of a victory.

The first half of 2017 F1 season concluded in Hungary, with Ocon continuing his points run with ninth.
Ocon and Perez crashed twice in the run up to Eau Rouge, the second incident leading to a DNF for Perez. Ocon, however, was able to continue and grabbed two points with ninth.
Ocon excelled in a wet qualifying session, putting his Force India third on the grid (after penalties). He eventually finished sixth.
The Singapore GP was largely disappointing for Ocon, but he managed to score a point in 10th.
An early puncture cost Ocon dearly in Malaysia, but he recovered to finish inside the points (10th).
Another top-notch performance from Ocon in Japan, where he held third place early on before finishing sixth. It was his 25th successive race finish in F1.
Ocon was equally impressive at Austin, finish a strong sixth.
Ocon equalled his career best result of fifth in Mexico, beating his teammate and home hero Perez.
Ocon's run of consecutive race finishes came to an unfortunate end in Brazil after he was hit by Grosjean on the very first lap of the race.
