Pole positions
Lewis Hamilton secured his 63rd career pole in Shanghai, inching himself closer to Ayrton Senna (65) and Michael Schumacher (68), who holds the record.
Shanghai Kid
It was Hamilton's sixth pole in China after 2007 (pictured), '08, '13, '14 and '15. This is the second circuit where he has scored six pole positions, the other being Melbourne's Albert Park Circuit.
Mercedes' stunning pole position rate
It was also Mercedes' 75th pole position in F1. Having contested 150 grands prix as a full-fledged constructor, Mercedes' pole rate is an astonishing 50%, putting him well clear of their nearest rival Red Bull (25.8%).
Another victory
Hamilton claimed his 54th Formula 1 victory last weekend, putting himself clear of Prost's 51 grand prix haul. However, the Englishman is still a long way off Schumacher's record of 91 grand prix wins.
Globe-trotter
Hamilton has now won five grands prix at three different tracks (Shanghai, Budapest, Montreal). Apart from Schumacher, he is the only other driver to have won a handful of races at three or more tracks.
Grand Slam
Hamilton also secured his third ever career Grand Slam (pole, win, fastest lap, all laps led), placing himself level with fellow three-time champion Nelson Piquet. The record, however, is held by Jim Clark who has 8 F1 Grand Slams to his name.
Wins in 11 consecutive seasons
With the Shanghai victory, Hamilton continued his record of winning one race every year - with the tally now reaching 11 years. Again, only Schumacher is ahead, who won at least one race for 15 consecutive seasons.
Equalling Alain Prost's podium record
Hamilton also equalled Prost's podium tally of 106 in China. The two drivers, who have won seven championships between them, trail Schumacher's all time record of 155 podium finishes.
Points tie
Hamilton and Vettel are tied on points, with 43 points each. One will have to go back to the 2012 Spanish Grand Prix to find out the last time two drivers were tied on points at the top of the standings. At that occasion, both Vettel and Alonso had 61 points to their name.
Verstappen's podium
For the first time in history, a Dutch F1 driver scored a podium finish after starting outside the top 10, It was also Red Bull's 136th podium and the 100th race in which at least one Red Bull driver stood on the rostrum (i.e double podiums excluded).
Driver of the Day
Verstappen was elected as the Driver of the Day for the ninth time since the award was introduced in 2016.
Points for Haas
Kevin Magnussen scored his first points for Haas in China. It was the first time a driver other than Romain Grosjean secured a top 10 result for the American squad.
Double points
By finishing ninth and tenth, Force India secured a double points finish for the second race in running in 2017. Apart from the Silverstone-based squad, only Mercedes and Ferrari have managed to get both their cars in points in Australia and China.
Perez's points streak
China marked Sergio Perez's 12th consecutive points finish in F1. However, he has a long way to go before he catches Raikkonen's streak of 27 successive top 10 finishes.
