Gary Anderson returns to Jordan

Gary Anderson is returning to Jordan Grand Prix as Director of Race and Test Engineering following three years working with Jaguar Racing and Reynard Motorsport. Anderson, who joined Jordan at its inception in 1990 and was the technical brain behind cars over an eight year span, from the impressive Jordan-Ford 191 through to the race winning Jordan Mugen-Honda 198, will commence his new role in early December, working alongside Eghbal Hamidy and Trevor Foster, reporting to Jordan's COO, John Putt.

Commenting on the announcement, Anderson said, "I am thrilled to be returning to Jordan Grand Prix. Working at Jaguar and Reynard has been an important phase in my career, and I am now able to use additional experience gained from those projects to work with the Jordan on building for future success."

Jordan Chief Executive, Eddie Jordan said, "Gary has been a huge part of Jordan Grand Prix^Òs history. We are delighted to welcome him back after his time at Jaguar Racing and Reynard Motorsport, and I think this is testament to the great working relationship and friendship we have enjoyed over the years. I believe his capabilities have been strengthened by his time spent in other teams and he will be an enormous asset to Jordan, adding further experience and knowledge to our already strong engineering team."

Anderson was born and lived in Northern Ireland before coming to England in 1972 to begin his F1 career with Brabham and subsequently McLaren. In 1981 he set up his own business making parts for F1 teams and designing and building his own Anson cars in F3, Super Vee and Sports Cars. He later worked in Champcars and F3000 prior to joining Jordan.
