SECOND ROW SLOTS FOR B.A.R HONDA DUO IN HUNGARY
Sato and Button to start Hungarian GP from third and fourth

Lucky Strike B.A.R Honda's Takuma Sato and Jenson Button enjoyed a strong qualifying performance at the Hungaroring this afternoon to lock out the second row of the grid. Sato and Button will start tomorrow's Hungarian Grand Prix from third and fourth position respectively.

Button was the man to beat in the final practice session this morning, clocking a 1m19.556s in the closing minutes of the session. Sato had to sit out the majority of the first morning practice session as he had a problem with his power steering, but he was able to participate in the second session, setting the sixth fastest time of the morning, a 1m20.363s.

Button finished seventh in pre-qualifying so was the 14th driver out on track for qualifying proper this afternoon as it started to spit with rain, just over half way through the hour long session. The Briton put in a neat and tidy lap to take provisional pole with a 1m19.700s, finally qualifying his B.A.R Honda 006 fourth on the grid on the second row.

B.A.R Honda's Sato was the 16th man on track for his final qualifying run, having set the fifth fastest time in pre-qualifying this afternoon. Despite running slightly wide through turn 11, the Japanese star performed brilliantly to clock a 1m19.693s, just seven thousandths of a second faster than team-mate Button. Sato finally qualified his B.A.R Honda 006 third on the grid and will start tomorrow's race from row two on the clean side of the track, alongside Button.

Hot weather is expected in Budapest tomorrow and the track will be fairly dusty, so drivers in P1, P3, P5 and so on should have a clear advantage at the start of the race, as they pull away on the clean side of the track.

The overcast skies which were looming over the Hungaroring this morning cleared to reveal some sunshine but it remained relatively cool with gusty winds (23 degrees) as Michael Schumacher took pole position for the Hungarian Grand Prix, followed by Ferrari team-mate Rubens Barrichello. The B.A.R Honda pairing of Takuma Sato and Jenson Button will line up on row two with Renault's Fernando Alonso and the Williams of Antonio Pizzonia behind them on the third row. Juan Pablo Montoya (Williams) and Giancarlo Fisichella (Sauber) will start the race from seventh and eighth position respectively.

Takuma Sato Position: 3rd

"I'm really pleased with my lap. We expected to be strong here after Germany and this has proved to be the case. I think the weather has taken everyone by surprise and the last few runners this afternoon - including myself - were lucky that the rain held off until after the session. It's a great bonus for the team that we have both cars on the second row of the grid tomorrow. I feel confident about the race and my focus now will be on achieving my objective of a podium finish."

Jenson Button Position: 4th

"I'm slightly disappointed to be honest. I didn't get enough heat in the tyres on the out-lap and that compromised my quick lap. Nonetheless, locking out the second row behind the Ferraris is a good team result and we can do a good job from there tomorrow. I would have been happier to be on the front row but the Bridgestones have been working better than any of us expected. The most important thing now is to make sure we stay ahead of the Renaults tomorrow."

Shuhei Nakamoto - Engineering Director, Honda Racing Development

"Both drivers have done an excellent job to get P3 and P4 - this obviously gives us a great chance to get on the podium in the race tomorrow."
