Hungarian GP Saturday Ferrari notes

Michael Schumacher:
“I am delighted to be on pole. We came here confident and I hope we will leave here tomorrow with the same confidence. My first target is to finish and then we are in a good position to win. As for the start, I think we have improved after practising last week. But you also need a bit of luck with so much horsepower and a small clutch. Getting it right is a fine edge. This is a demanding circuit to drive with no rest for the driver with the variety of corners and some bumps. This makes it difficult to find the best set up for the race but I am happy with my car in race trim. Qualifying is one thing, but the race is another and I want to get a good result. The real answer will come tomorrow.”

Rubens Barrichello:
”It was a difficult qualifying session for me and unfortunately I was slowed by traffic on my last run. That meant I was unable to improve my time. I never managed to get the balance right on my car and that affected my ability to get the most out of it. Tomorrow’s race is bound to be tough but I know I can count on the potential of my car.” Jean Todt:
“I am happy because we had a really great qualifying today. Michael has secured his fifth pole of the season and Ferrari’s sixth. This is a very important result, given that the nature of the track makes overtaking difficult. Rubens was unable to get the most out of his car. However, we saw in the last race what he could do starting from a much worse position, so we expect him to have a good race. If the weather stays the same then it will be a very tough afternoon. Reliability and strategy will be very important. Ferrari is currently a very competitive and motivated team.”
