Jarno TRULLI " I started today's sessions with a very competitive car in the free practice and I felt great in the car. I was able to set the third best lap-time this morning and keep it for quite a long time. When, I started the qualifying session I found my car was less competitive and I could not repeat my performance from the morning. We must examine the data to understand the reasons. Finally, as always, the race here will be long and difficult and it will be rewarding to finish."

Olivier PANIS " We have made a choice of tyres for tomorrow which perhaps wasn't the best for qualifying as we were not able to succeed in doing all we hoped. I think, however, that it is a good choice for the race. I am a little disappointed to have been held up by some quicker drivers, even if they are faster, they still have to take their competitors into account - I was in the process of improving my time on my final run. I did my best to take a good grid position, the team did a good job with the set-ups in the last two days and I believe we should be feeling confident about the race."

Alain PROST " We knew it was going to be difficult to put both cars in the top ten, both today's qualifying result is, all the same, disappointing as our result in this morning's free practice had been very encouraging. We lost some performance in qualifying while our rivals seemed to find something extra. The choice of tyres for the race is very important and it is not until we know what everyone else is doing that we can evaluate our chances for the race. From the point of view of reliability of our cars on this kind of track, I remain very confident that we can deliver a good race."
