Jack Fairman, winner in Sportscars in the late 1950s and sometime F1 racer, has died at the BEN Charity home in Rugby, England. He was 88.

Born on the 15th March in Smallfield, Surrey, Fairman was an engineer by trade and started competing in 1934. He made his F1 debut with HWM at the 1953 British Gran Prix, and became the test driver for Connaught, entering the occasional Grand Prix up until 1963. It was in sportscars with Aston Martin that he made his name, winning two races with DBR1, including the Nurburgring 1000 Km with Stirling Moss.
