Jaguar Racing is set to take R3 to Imola says Niki Lauda

Initial results from the week's testing in Barcelona point to Jaguar Racing retaining the services of the R3 once the team returns to Europe. The car was always going to be raced in Brazil but there was a question mark over its continued use in the European legs of the championship.

There has been no official announcement but team principal Niki lauda spoke to jaguar-racing.com after the test. "The performance differential between the two is just not big enough to go on with last year's car," he said.

"Also we cannot afford to spend precious resources on any kind of parallel development, so this is where we are and I am satisfied we have done everything to make sure that our next move is forward."

Eddie joined Pedro out on the track today, in order to give a full team assessment to the impending car decision. The Ulsterman finished a tenth off the Spaniard's best, despite Pedro having a slight off in the morning, and the greens ended the day sixth and 10th.

The day was to be Ferrari's however, Rubens Barrichello finished top ahead of his illustrious team-mate Michael Schumacher, with Panis, Wurz and Badoer filling out the top six.
