Jaguar cuts short Paul Ricard test

Jaguar decided to cut short its three-day test at the Paul Ricard High Tech Test Track this week after Christian Klien suffered a suspected rear suspension failure. Klien had a high-speed spin at the circuit on Thursday which resulted in extensive repair work being needed.

Jaguar decided to return to base in the UK to continue preparations for the San Marino Grand Prix next weekend. Klien completed 25 laps and set a best time of 1:09.567 before the incident.

Teammate Mark Webber started the aerodynamics and tyre test the previous day and had twice ground to a halt on track. Mechanics managed to get him back out both times and the Australian completed 118 laps and was seventh fastest of the day.

Klien is still learning some of the F1 circuits but Imola, on April 25th, is one he is familiar with. "I am really looking forward to the next race in Imola as this is one of my favourite tracks," he said. "It's going to be good to be racing at a circuit where I have some experience."
