Japanese GP Saturday Minardi Notes

Suzuka, October 30th 1999

MARC GENE' Chassis 04 20th 12 laps time: 1:41,529 "I believe I got a good help from the whole team in this qualifying session. We did a good job together despite I was not able to improve my lap time as I expected. I learned the track well and for tomorrow I feel fairly confident because I have the right feeling with my car which ran trouble free during the weekend."

LUCA BADOER Chassis 01 22nd 8 laps time: 1:42,515 "I had a very disappointing qualifying today. During my first run I was setting a pretty good time when I passed on some oil on the track, I hit a kerb and damaged my race car as a result. I then switched to the T-car which turned out very unbalanced. My car was repaired by the mechanics and I switched again to it in order to finish the session. Unfortunately I didn't feel it as it was before and I was not able to run a clean, faultless lap."

The T-car (chassis 03) for tomorrow's race is prepared for Marc Geni.
