Giancarlo Fisichella and Takuma Sato topped the time charts today, the last of Jordan Honda’s three days of testing in Barcelona, with the quickest and second fastest lap times of 1:18.49 and 1:19.13 respectively. Better weather conditions today gave the team an opportunity to make a good deal of progress with Fisichella completing 70 laps, and Sato finishing 72 laps.

Fisichella spent the day concentrating on general set up development, launch control, front and rear suspension geometry and finally some tyre programme work for Bridgestone. Sato worked on traction and launch control development and general set-up, with a routine engine and gearbox change midway through the session.

Fisichella commented, "It's been a very good day. We did a variety of set-up work and I did a lot of laps. Last year was a difficult year for me and I'm just getting used to a new car, so putting in the quickest lap time of the week is a good feeling. I'm pleased but it will be better if I can do the same in qualifying!"

Jordan leaves the Circuit de Catalunya satisfied with the progress made in its first pre-season test of 2002, and the team’s test programme will continue in Valencia next week, when both Fisichella and Sato will return to drive for three days, from 15– 17 January.
