Jordan denies troubled times

Eddie Jordan has denied his team is in trouble and believes 2004 will be a good year. Ever a survivor, Jordan has undoubtedly struggled with financial problems but the start of the season is looming on the horizon and he's ready for it. Nick Heidfeld was recently signed as one driver for this year, although the other has yet to be confirmed, and the team is thought to be launching the EJ14 at Silverstone this week.

"We'll survive and survive well," Jordan told the UK's Telegraph newspaper. "We'll have a bloody good year. We'll have a better engine from Cosworth and a very good driver line-up. It's a fashionable thing to write about, that Jordan are in trouble. Well Jordan are not in trouble."

Every so often the speculation that Jordan is selling the team reappears, but the Irishman is looking for partners rather than buyers. "I'm interested in a partner who can bring added value and performance," he explained.

"There's no one who has come to me with a financial package that makes it better for Jordan Grand Prix. Leave Eddie Jordan out of it. He'll never starve. Money is no longer an issue to me. The team are the important thing."

Some have said that Jordan's time in F1 is up and some had even predicted that he would be out of business by the end of last year. And yet Eddie Jordan is still very much alive. "I'm the luckiest man on earth," he stated. "I've made some money out of this business. Good money. For a dead man I'm looking pretty good."
