Nick Heidfeld continued Jordan Ford's test programme with the EJ14 today, adding 67 laps to the car's mileage in very wet conditions at Silverstone's International circuit. Timo Glock completed 35 laps in the EJ13.

James Robinson, Head of Race and Test Engineering:

"It was a mixed day for the EJ14 programme, thanks to the inclement weather. We uncovered a potential reliability problem with the car, and it's always good to find these things at an early stage in the car's life. Despite that we still achieved 67 laps including a long run at the end of the day with no major problems. Timo's schedule for the day focused on a dry Bridgestone tyre programme, which unfortunately we couldn't complete due to the weather and the fact that his car required an engine change during the day resulted in limited track time this afternoon for him."

Nick Heidfeld:

"It was another good day with quite a lot of laps, although we would have liked to do even more. While it was dry when we started this morning, unfortunately it was wet for most of the day with the worst conditions at lunchtime when there were a lot of puddles and aquaplaning. The car stopped on the circuit twice, both times with the same problem, which I think can be sorted out quite easily. We are making quite big developments with the car and I'm looking forward to more testing in Jerez, hopefully in dry conditions."

Heidfeld will resume the Jordan Ford EJ14 test programme in Jerez, Spain, on 10 February when he will begin a four day test session.
