Despite slicing the top of his right index finger off during testing in Barcelona, Jaguar Racing drive Christian Klien has fully recovered in time for this weekend's French Grand Prix.

Having completed a number of trouble-free laps on Thursday morning, Christian climbed from his Jaguar R5 and picked up a brake-cooling fan to cool himself down. Unfortunately, the Austrian's right index finger slipped through the protective grill, resulting in a deep gash and ending his test.
"It's getting better," Christian told the team website. "It was quite painful in the beginning because I cut off the top of the first finger on the right hand. It was just the skin but there are a lot of sensitive nerves in the finger so it was really painful. It's getting better now and I will be fit for the weekend, no problem. There's no pain any more, the new skin has grown over and it looks good."
Although Klien only managed a few laps of the Circuit de Catalunya before his untimely injury, the Austrian is confident that the R5 will be well enough suited to Magny-Cours to give him a good shot at a points finish come Sunday.
"It was just 26 laps but I immediately had a good feeling with the car again and good feeling in the high speed corners which is also very important for Magny-Cours," added Klien. "I managed two runs on old tyres and one run on new tyres and set a very good lap time with my first run on new tyres. So it was looking very good until I jumped out of the car and picked up the fan! It was a really good two-car test for the team and we managed lots of problem free running to complete our planned programme.
"I raced there in F3 last year but once you're there with a Formula One car it's a completely different story. But I can say I really like the circuit, there's some very nice high speed corners and chicanes and it could be a good weekend for us because we were very strong there last year and Michelin should also be very competitive on their home patch."
