David Coulthard is not expecting too much in the way of victory at his home race this weekend, despite being a two-time winner at Silverstone in the past. The Scot is determined to do his best for the home fans but thinks the McLaren is not as good as previous years, while Ferrari and Williams are looking strong.

"My chances at Silverstone are less than before," said Coulthard. "The car is less competitive than it has been. There is no argument about that. Ferrari are always going to be strong here and I think Williams have certainly got high-speed stability. We have probably got a bit more downforce but, as Silverstone is a medium downforce track, that is not going to benefit us much."
Coulthard has had a difficult season; McLaren have less been fighting with Ferrari and Williams and more trying to fend off Renault. While the car may be off the pace, Coulthard also has to compete with the talents of young team mate Kimi Raikkonen. After victory in the British Grand Prix in 1999 and 2000, the Scot was out of the race last year when he tangled with the Jordan of Jarno Trulli not long after the start.
But Coulthard remains motivated, still happiest when racing: "I still very much have a love of racing and get a real buzz when it comes to race day. It is like Christmas when a child is opening his presents. I feel most in control and at my happiest when I climb into the car."
