Liam Lawson "almost emotional" in Ford GT as Racing Bulls pair test dream garage
Racing Bulls team-mates Liam Lawson and Isack Hadjar spent a day driving Ford heroes

There are perks to being connected to Ford Racing, as Racing Bulls team-mates Liam Lawson and Isack Hadjar were treated to some of the greatest road cars the marque had to offer in a recent video from the brand.
Getting behind the wheel of legendary Ford cars such as a 1965 Mustang, Group B legend RS200 and even a Ford GT, the two drivers had a field day as they piloted these iconic machines. The video played more like two friends rummaging through a dream garage than a PR stunt, and we loved it.
"Never," Hadjar said after being asked if he'd driven an old car before as he looked over a number of them hidden under covers. Like two kids in a sweetshop, they eagerly pointed at the first two cars they wanted to uncover. Hadjar chose the classic Mustang.
"This is sick!" he said as he pulled away, both drivers giggling at the substantial steering wheel and the mammoth steering input needed to guide the boat.
After a short drive, Lawson got the next pick: a Ford RS200. One of only 200 built, this mid-engined sports car was designed to comply with FIA homologation regulations with it competing in Group B rallying. "I'm quite nervous to drive it, to be honest," he said as he lowered himself into the racing bucket seat of the Cosworth-powered machine before hustling it around what looked like Millbrook Proving Ground.
Next was the Ford GT Mk3, a car that made Lawson "almost emotional" as he enjoyed the 4737cc American V8 burbling behind him. But the smiles were widest as Hadjar sat behind the wheel of a 2010 Focus RS.
“We’re definitely getting a proper test of the handling,” Lawson said, his grip tight on the door as his Algerian-French team-mate wrestled with the 305-horsepower super-hatch. With the 2.5-litre five-cylinder singing, both drivers failed to hide their whoops and screams as they fully utilised the performance of the car.
