Lotus staff don't deserve late-season ordeal - Grosjean

The team's freight only arrived at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Thursday morning, leaving mechanics facing a tough time to get everything ready ahead of opening free practice.

It comes on the back of getting tyres late in Hungary, the cars being impounded in Belgium, the late arrival of freight in Japan and security staff blocking its garage in Brazil.

When asked about his concerns about the latest delays at Yas Marina, Grosjean said: "It is something we have experienced in the past.

"We have managed [before] to put in on track in time, and as long as it is ready for FP2 I am happy, so we will try to forget that.

"We have shown in Suzuka and Brazil when we were late, that we managed to get the car on track and go for it.

"It is just harder work for the guys, who don't deserve it. They will do the maximum and from there we will try to score some good points."

Hard goodbye

Grosjean will start his final race for Lotus this weekend, ahead of his switch to Haas for 2016.

He has admitted after spending his entire career with the Enstone-based team that it will be tough saying goodbye to so many friends.

"It is the first time in my career I have to change teams, so it is something new," he said. "The first time I went to Enstone was in 2005 and I learned everything from there.

"So switching the car off on Sunday and thinking it is the last race with the team will certainly be quite hard. But on other hand I want to push hard all weekend long, score good points, and get a good result.

"I want to thank the team. We've been through some tough times and better times as well, and we did both learn from those years.

"It was a nice experience, so I am looking forward to the next one. It is very exciting with Haas."
