Sky Sports Formula 1 veteran Martin Brundle has addressed his bizarre interaction with American television host Jimmy Fallon during the pre-race grid walk ahead of the Miami Grand Prix.
The Miami International Autodrome has quickly become a hotspot for famous faces on the grid and in the paddock, and the 2026 edition of the event was no different.
As he weaved his way through the crowds on the grid ahead of the race, Brundle spotted the Tonight Show presenter. But rather than a typical interview unfolding, Fallon grabbed the microphone from the former F1 driver and bit the cover.
After swiftly taking the microphone back, Brundle quipped, "Don’t do that again."
Brundle later took to social media, writing: "In 30 years of broadcasting I’ve never wondered what a branded microphone sock tastes like. There’s some very funny people around."
"I love when these celebrities are overwhelmed when Martin appears, it's refreshing to see they acknowledge you," one fan commented, while another added: "Your interviews are always top entertainment, Martin!"
Fallon was at the Miami Grand Prix as a guest of Red Bull and Racing Bulls. Brundle's pre-race grid walk has become a fan-favourite moment of F1 race weekends, and the moment with Fallon has joined a long, entertaining line of memorable moments.
Other interactions have included rapper Megan Thee Stallion's security entourage at the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Cara Delevingne's awkward interview rejection at the British Grand Prix and Machine Gun Kelly's strange air guitar moment at the Brazilian Grand Prix.
Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli went on to secure his third consecutive win at the Miami Grand Prix. The Italian was joined on the podium by McLaren's Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, who finished second and third, respectively. Rounding out the top five were Antonelli's Mercedes team-mate George Russell and Red Bull's Max Verstappen.
