Max Verstappen has featured in a new video from Honda Global, where we join the four-time champion as he tours the new HondaJet Elite II in Italy. Casting his experienced eye over the private jet's aerodynamics, cockpit and cabin, the Red Bull driver admits he "could get used to this."
The driver, joined by captain Robin Balen, spends plenty of time in his personal private jet as he travels around the world following the Formula 1 circus, and he was mightily impressed by what the company had to offer as the pair discussed the over-the-wing engine mounts.
These are configured to allow more cabin space while also minimising vibrations from travelling into the plane compared to that of more traditional set-ups.
"They're about the same horsepower as a Formula 1 engine at take-off," Balen told the Dutchman of the jet engines. "I like the mount as well. It's a bit different to most of the other jets," Verstappen responded before admiring the nose of the machine. "It almost looks like a bullet."

Inside, Verstappen takes in the impressive cockpit. “Fewer buttons… it’s really advanced, isn’t it? It’s really cool,” he said before concluding, “I think I can get used to this.”
Verstappen has recently purchased a new private jet, replacing his well-used Dassault Falcon 900EX. Upgrading to a Dassault Falcon 8X - wearing the registration PH-UTL - Verstappen is reported to have spent close to $58million on the plane, although this is not confirmed.
His previous jet was listed for sale in March after he originally purchased it from Virgin Atlantic founder Sir Richard Branson in 2020.
The HondaJet Elite II is classed as a light business jet, with a maximum cruise speed of 422 KTAS (approximately 485mph) and a range of 1547 nautical miles. In comparison, Verstappen's current jet boasts a range of over 10,000 nautical miles and a top speed of approximately 592mph.
Unfortunately for Verstappen, Honda is leaving Red Bull for Aston Martin at the close of the season, so he will want to make the most of his connections before then if he wants to take the plane for a spin. The Japanese manufacturer will assist the Silverstone-based team in its 2026 power unit as F1 targets hybrid engines with a 50-50 split between combustion and electrical power.
Red Bull will use Red Bull Powertrains hardware, which has been built in partnership with Ford.
