As it has done in previous years, Minardi will launch its 2004 challenger just a couple of days before the Australian Grand Prix. At Melbourne's Albert Park on Wednesday 3rd March, the team will present the PS04B, which has tested at Misano and Imola over the winter.
New Minardi drivers for 2004 are Italian Gianmaria Bruni, who tested for the team last year, and Hungarian Zsolt Baumgartner, who competed in two Grands Prix in 2003 with Jordan.
The first test at Misano took place in early February, the driver duo taking a day each and completing 128 laps over all. The second two-day session was at Imola the following week and covered 122 laps.
After only one engine failure last season, Minardi is hoping its reliability will be an advantage in 2004 with the one engine per weekend rule. The team will again run with Cosworth engines and Bridgestone tyres this year.
