Juan Pablo Montoya has appealed for someone with racing experience to judge 'racing incidents' after his recent clashes with Michael Schumacher. In the last two races Montoya and Schumacher have had incidents at the first corner and the Colombian believes that only someone with racing experience can accurately give out penalties.
Officials decided Montoya was at fault in the Malaysian Grand Prix when he and Schumacher collided at the first corner and the Colombian was penalized with a 'drive-through' penalty. In Brazil a very similar incident happened but no penalty was given. Montoya believes that Schumacher was at fault and should have been punished, saying the Ferrari driver was unfair to race against.
Montoya now wants an experienced and unbiased official to decide who should be on the receiving end of penalties: "I think the time has come for the FIA to put someone with previous racing experience up in race control to be able to judge on incidents like these," the Colombian said. "He needs to be someone who is brave enough to punish every driver the same - no matter who they are or which team they drive for. And the punishments need to be handed out equally to all drivers for similar mistakes so there is some consistency in what happens."
