Patrick Head has said that Ralf Schumacher does not put in as much work during testing as Juan Pablo Montoya.

Speaking with German motoring journal "Auto Motor und Sport" Head said that Schumacher was less involved with the technical analysis of results than Montoya, therefore putting him a step behind the Colombian.

"He hasn't got much patience to check through data with the engineers, to study the next day's programme or to discuss things he doesn't like in the car," said Head.

"Juan does all that and thus has a better understanding for the car."

Montoya and Schumacher have had many clashes since they became team mates and it's rumoured that Montoya keeps to the Williams camp while Ralf spends more time at BMW. Patrick Head has spoken out against Ralf before, most recently when the German said he wanted Williams to employ team orders next season. Head remarked that team orders would not necessarily benefit Schumacher.
