The Sauber pair crashed into each other on lap 48 of the race, when Ericsson tried to pass Nasr on the inside at La Rascasse.

As a result of the accident both cars ended up retiring, with Ericsson being handed a three-place grid penalty for Canada.

Team boss Monisha Kaltenborn labelled the crash "unacceptable".

"We left Monaco behind," said Nasr on Thursday in Montreal. "What had to be said was said. We are here for another race weekend.

"We sat down with the team. As I said, everything is clear and left behind already. We moved on.

"I wasn't expecting that. But as I said, it happened in Monaco, it stays in Monaco. We move ahead."

When asked if he can trust Ericsson after the crash, he said. "Yeah, I do.

"In the situation that we are we are always going to see the other car close to each other anyway. I never had anything against Marcus. I think it was just the way it happened in Monaco."

Ericsson, for his part, added: "It happened in Monaco and we spoke about it, discussed it and we cleared the air about it. We had different opinions, but it is all done and settled now and I am looking forward to Montreal."

Nasr admitted it was gutting for the team to have both cars retire, especially in the difficult situation Sauber is in.

"We are struggling financially, and people put so much effort into building the cars and nobody likes to see two cars out of the race. This is clear," he added.

No points until update

With the team having introduced hardly any updates to its car this season, Nasr reckons a points finish is out of the question until a planned upgrade is added to the car.

"It [the update] was scheduled for Silverstone. I don't know what's the latest, but Silverstone was the target," the Brazilian added.

"At the moment we are using the front wing, rear wing, floor, diffuser, all from last year.

"Very similar to last year, let's say.

"When we can get those updates and the performance reaches another level then we can say we can fight for points. But at the moment, no, I can't say that."
