WilliamsF1 deny bouncing Button

The BMW WilliamsF1 team have denied that they have made any decision on whether Jenson Button will race for the team next season. "The report is pure speculation. The situation is still the same. Both Frank Williams and Patrick Head (technical director) have said that no decision will be taken until they have heard from Chip Ganassi". Juan Pablo Montoya, who is under contract to Williams, is currently racing for Chip in the US ChampCar series.

Jordan to keep line up?

Despite claims in the press saying otherwise, Heinz-Harald Frentzen and Jarno Trulli are set to remain with the Jordan team next season. Frentzen would prefer to stay with the Silverstone-based team, rather than move to Jaguar where relations with his future team-mate, Eddie Irvine, would be far from ideal. The media has been rife with speculation that Jenson Button will be driving for the team next season, but this appears to be wide of the mark, and against the future goals of the Jordan team, who no longer want to train drivers for other teams.

No decision of Schumi Jr

The decision on whether Ralf Schumacher will race for BMW WilliamsF1 has yet to be made, and will not be made until the last possible moment, according to the WilliamsF1 team. Bruno Junquiera is ready, should he be required to take the young German's place in the team.

Silverstone owners restructure

The BRDC, owners of the Silverstone circuit, have agreed to a plan which will put the future of the circuit in the hands of eight 'guardians' who will have the say in what happens to the circuit. They also plan to split the BRDC into two groups - one sporting, the other commerical. The President of the BRDC, Ken Tyrrell, said "I am absolutley delighted that the Club has united, the future development of motor sport at Silverstone is assured."
