F1 Teams Renault F1 (Fernando Alonso/Heikki Kovalainen), Ferrari (Felipe Massa), McLaren Mercedes (Pedro De La Rosa/Gary Paffett), BMW Sauber (Jacques Villeneuve/Robert Kubica), Panasonic Toyota Racing (Olivier Panis/Ricardo Zonta), Red Bull Racing (David Coulthard/Robert Doornbos) and Toro Rosso (Neel Jani) continued their test session at the Paul Ricard HTTT.

With a cloudy and shiny sky, the 12 drivers used the long and fast track solution, 1E SC short (5.216 km). Jacques Villeneuve (BMW Sauber) set today's fastest lap in 01:25.379 ahead of Renault F1 test driver Heikki Kovalainen. The Canadian driver completed the greatest number of laps today (125) whereas Felipe Massa's Ferrari rounded up only 3 laps because of engine problems.

The test session will continue tomorrow at the Paul Ricard HTTT on the same track solution. Two teams will be present: McLaren Mercedes with Pedro De La Rosa and Gary Paffett, and Panasonic Toyota Racing with Olivier Panis and Ricardo Zonta. These two drivers worked for the first time on the set up and balance of the TF106-B which will take part in the upcoming Monaco Grand Prix.
