F1 testing at the Paul Ricard HTTT
Second and last test day for Ferrari and Jordan before German GP at Hockenheim
These last two days, Ferrari and Jordan GP tested at the Paul Ricard HTTT, mainly working on tyre set-ups with their tyre manufacturer Bridgestone.
Spanish test driver Marc Gené who had arrived on Tuesday, completed a test session for Ferrari in exclusivity, also working for a filming session thanks to the Paul Ricard HTTT very special surrounding. On Thursday, Jordan GP joined the Italian team to start a two day official F1 test session, to work on tyre set-ups.
Portuguese driver Tiago Monteiro took over from Idian Narin Karthikeyan and Dutch Robert Dornboos today in the Jordan GP team and Michael Schumacher took over from Marc Gené in Ferrari team. The seven time F1 World Champion was driving at the Paul Ricard HTTT for the very first time.
The teams chose the 1C sc (5,810km) track solution for the morning session and the 2C sc (4,145km) for the afternoon session.
Marc Gené completed almost the distance of two Grand Prix each day (627km the first day, 714 the second day and 365 yesterday) on two different tracks. Michael Schumacher, who was discovering the track today completed some 661 kilometer on the same two tracks today.
Jordan Grand Prix and its three drivers completed in total 1104 kilometre in two days.
The Paul Ricard HTTT is and stays the right place to test very different settings in a small lap of time thanks to the 179 track possibilities. The best example is today, changing track solution between morning and afternoon.
