Pizzonia aiming for race seat

Williams test driver Antonio Pizzonia is looking to secure a race seat in Formula One for next season and is in discussions with a few teams. The 21 year old Brazilian has been testing with Marc Gene for Williams this season and is ready to take the next step.

"It's very important to get a race seat next season,' he said to Motorsport News. "That's the target, and it's looking more hopeful now than it has for a couple of months. We're talking to a few teams, including Toyota and Sauber and hopefully we'll be able to test in September."

Pizzonia currently drives in F3000 for the Petrobras Junior team after a rising career starting in karts. He first tested for Williams in 1999 while racing in Formula Renault and in 2000 he won the British F3 championship.

The battle for seats at Toyota, Sauber and Jaguar seems never ending, while Arrows, Minardi and BAR are open to just as much speculation. Rumour has it that Mark Webber will be announced for Jaguar next week but the rest is anyone's guess.
