Raikkonen impressed by look of SF15-T

Ferrari’s most recent Formula One World Champion, Kimi Raikkonen, believes that the new SF15-T has the potential to turn around the Scuderia’s recent woes.

Ferrari hasn’t won a race since China in 2013, and Raikkonen says he is determined to bounce back from a difficult year for him after he finished 12^th in the championship with a fraction of the points of then-team-mate Fernando Alonso.

“It looks nice,” said Raikkonen of the SF15-T. “It looks different than last year’s car, from all the details it looks good. And usually when it looks good, it should be a pretty good car but obviously we have to wait until testing and see how it is. First impression is good.

“I think we learnt a lot from last year from the difficulties we had, and obviously we had some bad luck. But sometimes you have those years, where everything seems to be a bit difficult. We understood a lot of things and hopefully we can turn this around, and as a team be strong and get back to where we should be. Little by little we can get stronger.”

Too early to make predictions

Raikkonen would not be drawn on any targets or goals being set for the season ahead.

“It’s too early to say where we’re going to be,” he said. “We need to do our things 100 percent as a team and push things forward, keep building over the winter, that’s the starting point and then the results should come. There’s no point to set any goals yet. We’ll see where we are at the first test.”

On the subject of new team-mate Sebastian Vettel, Raikkonen seems happy that one of his friends in the F1 paddock is joining the team.

“We haven’t seen each other since last year, obviously it’ll be interesting working with him for the first time,” he said. “We’ll fight against each other in the good way, pushing each other. He’s had a very good career so far, and I’m happy for him, and hopefully we can put Ferrari where it should be.”
