Raikkonen insists no regrets over Bottas crash

The Ferrari driver clashed with his Williams rival on the final lap of the Sochi race, punting Bottas out of third place and damaging his own car to hand Sergio Perez a podium spot.

Although the stewards said Raikkonen was fully to blame for the collision, and punished him with a time penalty that dropped him from fifth to eighth, the former world champion said he would do exactly the same again if similar circumstances came up.

"There were some discussions and obviously penalties given to me, but I would still do it tomorrow," said Raikkonen.

"It doesn't change the story. Unfortunately we came together in the end. That is life, that is racing, and I don't feel bad about it.

"I will do the same thing next time and we will see. Maybe it will go better."

Bottas unhappy

Bottas made it clear that his opinion that Raikkonen was fully to blame had not changed either.

"For me it is the same really," he said. "Of course it is disappointing to lose the points, but my opinion hasn't changed. I wouldn't do anything different."

Bottas also said that the fact Raikkonen had passed him earlier in the race with a similar manoeuvre did not mean that he was right to try to do it again.

"For my point the first one [overtaking move] was quite a different one. It was much clearer he would do it, and as a driver you don't leave the door open two times.

"So for me it was a different situation, as we saw with the result."
