Silverstone Test, Day Three

Driver: David Coulthard

Car: RB4 01
Time: 1:22.232, Laps: 30

Fastest Lap: L. Hamilton 1:19.170
Circuit length: 5.141 km

Silverstone might well be the nearest circuit to the Red Bull Racing facility in Milton Keynes, but there was no "home team" advantage for us on the last day of the test.

David Coulthard took over from Mark Webber in the cockpit of RB4 for what can only be described as a frustrating day. Tyre comparison in preparation for next weekend's British Grand Prix was on the agenda, but on his first run on new tyres, Timo Glock's Toyota decided to attack David as they went through Stowe. The German driver immediately apologized, but didn't come round to the garage to help with repairs. After lunch a gearbox issue delayed proceedings allowing only limited laps.

"Over the previous two days, when Mark was driving, the team had come up with some interesting results and I was keen to validate them today," said Coulthard. "Unfortunately I did not get much running and as the high-speed nature of Silverstone means it helps to get your eye in, I will be slightly on the back foot going into practice for the British Grand Prix. But I think that, as a team, we are strong enough to deal with that, so I hope to have a good home race."
