Rosberg says Hamilton to blame for crash
Nico Rosberg believes teammate Lewis Hamilton was in the wrong in their collision on the final lap of the Austrian Grand Prix.
The duo made contact at Turn 2 as they battled for the lead, Rosberg's front wing ending up damaged and under his car.
Rosberg, who was on the inside of the corner, had brake problems and ran wide, Hamilton turning in and crashing into the Mercedes.
The German said he was surprised Hamilton had turned in because he was on the inside.
"Absolutely gutted, for sure," said Rosberg. "It's unbelievable. I was sure to win that race, and then lost it on the last lap. Pretty intense.
"We were battling, and I was struggling a little bit with my brakes because they got a bit hot in the end. And my tyres were degrading, so that gave Lewis a chance.
"Nevertheless I was confident I could defend and bring it home, and I had the inside position, strong position, and I went a bit deep into the corner, but that's fine, you know, I dictate, I'm on the inside.
"Then I was just very surprised that Lewis turned in, that caused a collision."
Rosberg was put under investigation for causing a collision and for not stopping after his car suffered damaged.
He said he was unsure about what he would tell the stewards.
"What do you want me to say? I don't know, I haven't even seen it… I'm not at that point yet. I'm still just frustrated about what happened and losing the win like that."
