West McLaren Mercedes driver Kimi Raikkonen was fourth fastest after today's two practice sessions for the San Marino Grand Prix at the Imola circuit. Kimi set a time of 1:21.586 whilst team mate David Coulthard's time of 1:21.795 put him ninth.

Kimi Raikkonen:

"I only managed a small amount of running in the first practice today as there was a small problem with the brakes. However we had a troublefree second session where I did a number of laps and whilst the car is still not perfect, we seem to be reasonably quick. We will make further improvements for tomorrow, so we will see where we really are then, but a decent start to the weekend."

David Coulthard:

"We completed our planned programme for Friday, and we will now look at the data and establish where we can make further improvements. The important thing is tomorrow's qualifying as this is when we will find out exactly how much progress we have made."

Ron Dennis:

"A relatively uneventful practice which provided us with data from which to make our tyre choice for the rest of the weekend."

Norbert Haug:

"We went through our planned programme. The gap between Kimi's fourth position and position 12 is only six tenths, so it would not be right to read anything into today's order."
