San Marino GP Saturday Arrows notes

IMOLA- SAN MARINO GRAND PRIX 30thAPRIL - 2ndMAY 1999

Saturday Qualifying - May 1st

The Arrows Team finished today's qualifying session for the San Marino Grand Prix with its drivers Pedro de la Rosa in 18th and Toranosuke Takagi in 20th position. Due to his excursion into a barrier yesterday, Tora was unable to use his race car during qualifying and had to use the Spare.

Pedro de la Rosa: "I am quite happy with my result, because the car was very well balanced. I do think I could have gone quicker, if I would not have had to slow down because of the yellow flag. We were unlucky not to make the last lap, and give me a chance to improve on the time, but I think that we are well prepared for tomorrow's race and I'm certainly more used to the track."

Toranosuke Takagi: " During the morning sessions we had a very good traction, but we lost it during qualifying. The Team tried to correct this and traction was improving until I was slowed down by Hill. I had to go wide and I was able to make up some time, until a yellow flag ended my quest for a achieving a better time."

Tom Walkinshaw added: "The Team did a terrific job to get Tora's car ready for qualifying and I think we were a little unlucky not to be able to achieve a better time. However, we encountered no major problems and it's the result in tomorrow's race that counts."
