Track 14° - Air 12.6°
Distance: 132 laps, 675.251 kilometres
Team Sauber Petronas concluded its three-day test at Barcelona today, in preparation for the 2002 F1 Championship. Nick Heidfeld set the sixth time of 1.20.074 and covered 62 laps. Felipe Massa finished with the fourteenth time of 1.21.795 and covered 70 laps during the day. This test completed the Team's running with the C20, as the C21 will be rolled out at Fiorano (Italy) next week.
Jacky Eeckelaert (Head of Vehicle Engineering): "During this final test with the C20 we were able to gather data and conduct tests with some components that will be incorporated in the C21. Despite the disruption of changeable weather throughout the test, Nick Heidfeld and Felipe Massa were able to complete most of the scheduled aero, tyre and dampers programmes and get meaningful results."
Nick Heidfeld: "I was satisfied today even if overall the weather has been frustrating over the whole test session It was a constructive test and it felt good to get back into the car after the long winter break."
Felipe Massa: "It has been a valuable experience learning the track in wet and in dry conditions. Today, I completed 70 laps and I still feel fit. I am looking forward to coming back in Barcelona with the new C21 later this month. "
