Just before everything will be in full swing at the Jose Carlos Pace Circuit in Interlagos Nick Heidfeld and Heinz-Harald Frentzen visited this afternoon (April 2) a project for underprivileged children at the gates of Sao Paulo. The Casa do Menor "Alegria e Esperança" (Home for Minors "Joy and Hope") is an aid project for neglected and uncared children. It is based on an initiative of nuns of the in Italy located Dominican order "Saníssimo Sacramento".

Already two years ago Sauber Petronas driver Nick Heidfeld visited the home for the first time. The approximately 30 girls between seven and 15 years old remembered "their" Nick very well, of course. For Heinz-Harald Frentzen it was his first visit of such a project. Both drivers obviously enjoyed playing football & Co. with the children.

"I am a parent too and know how important it is for children to experience love and care from their parents. Unfortunately not all children of this world are that lucky - either because they have lost their parents or they have been separated from their parents due to familiar difficulties. Therefore, it is good to see how you can put a smile on children's faces with a simple gesture. Even if it was just for a few moments it is still great to know that we made the children forget their difficult pasts today", said Heinz-Harald Frentzen thoughtfully.

Nick Heidfeld added: "It has been my second visit of the Casa do Menor and I am happy to see that the facilities could have been improved and that the conditions for the children are even better now. It is good to know that the children can find a new home here and that someone it taking care of them that great. It is a solid basis for them to get their lives onto the right track."
