Sauber has a good Friday practice in Austria

A productive day for the Sauber F1 Team in both practice sessions for the Austrian Grand Prix. In the morning the team was able to test different set-ups, while in the second free practice focused on race preparation comparing the soft and supersoft tyres on high- and low-fuel loads.

1st practice: 15th / 1:12.159 min (30 laps) / 2nd practice: 13th / 1:10.744 min (40 laps)

“It was a positive practice day for us here in Spielberg. Comparing our performance to Montreal, I think it is promising that we are more competitive here. We tested different set-ups on both cars, therefore, we collected some interesting data which we are going to analyze tonight.”

1st practice: 5th / 1:11.633 min (28 laps) / 2nd practice: 9th / 1:10.495 min (39 laps)

“Overall it was a good day. We were quite productive in both sessions when working through our programme. It is positive to see that our pace is quite competitive, and that I have a better feeling with the brakes now in comparison to Montreal. The balance of the car is also satisfying, so I am confident for the weekend.”
