Team Sauber Petronas started its three-day test at the Circuito Permanente de Jerez today. Felipe Massa covered 72 laps in chassis C23-05 to set a best time of 1:19.012s. He will continue tomorrow before Vitantonio Liuzzi will take over the driving on Thursday.

Mike Krack (Race Engineer): "Due to the delay in the morning we could only start our test around noon. This obviously threw us back, but we were able to compensate this loss of time a bit and I'm confident that we will complete our this week's programme.

"The afternoon we basically spent with Bridgestone tyre work for the remaining three races. We will verify the gathered data tomorrow. Because of the fairly strong wind we could not run our planned aerodynamic tests today and have decided to postpone them to tomorrow."
