Sauber Monza test 2001-07-04

Team RED BULL SAUBER PETRONAS continued its testing at Monza in Italy today, in preparation for the German Grand Prix at Hockenheim at the end of the month. Nick Heidfeld was once again at the wheel and recorded a best time of 1m 23.890 7 from his 35 laps. This was the second fastest of a day interrupted by red flags. Kimi Raikkonen and Jacky Eeckelaert are now in Monza, ready to take over the test work tomorrow and Friday.

Remi Decorzent (Race Engineer): "Once again we focused on aerodynamic work this morning in preparation for Hockenheim and for Monza in September. Unfortunately we lost some time because of very time consuming measurement on the front suspensions this morning, but nevertheless Nick was very quick. This afternoon we turned our attention to assessment of the compounds that Bridgestone will be taking to Hockenheim, but again we had problems, especially with a few red flags. One was for Nick, who stopped on the circuit with an oil leak and had to be towed back to the pits."

Nick Heidfeld: "We have found out some interesting things during this test, but the day was not quite as good as yesterday even though we went faster, because I wasn't able to get as many laps for a variety of reasons. A lot of drivers seemed to have problems today."." <pre>
