Sauber Valencia test 2001-07-19

Team RED BULL SAUBER PETRONAS concluded at 6pm its three-day test at Valencia today, in preparation for the Hungarian GP in August. Nick Heidfeld set the day's fastest time of 1m 13.774s, and covered 86 laps.

Jacky Eeckelaert (Head of Test Team): "This morning we ran only briefly as we conducted some intensive and time-consuming suspension measurements for future development of the car. We also worked on developing cooling configurations for Budapest, one of the hottest Grand Prix of the year. This afternoon Nick covered more than a Grand Prix distance. We continued our intensive programme of tyre evaluation for Hungary, and also worked on aerodynamic set-up for that race. All in all, a successful day for us."

Nick Heidfeld: "We were able to cover a lot of laps this afternoon, and I am encouraged by the performance of the car and the Bridgestone tyres in this test. It bodes well for our chances in the Hungarian Grand Prix."
